Throughout 2018, Game Freak and The Pokémon Company have been distributing the franchise’s rarest creatures through different retailers. With a new month now upon us, a new giveaway is about to begin! Players looking to acquire Xerneas or Yveltal, the legendary stars of Pokémon X and Y respectively, will want to check out participating GameStop locations!
Players with a copy of Pokémon Sun or Ultra Sun will receive an Yveltal at either Level 60 (Sun) or Level 100 (Ultra Sun). Regardless of version, the Pokémon will come holding a Gold Bottle Cap and boast the moves Oblivion Wing, Tail Wind, Heat Wave and Dark Pulse. Players with a copy of Moon or Ultra Moon will find their code unlocks Xerneas at Level 60 (Moon) or Level 100 (Ultra Moon). Xerneas will also come with a Gold Bottle Cap, as well as the moves Geomancy, Focus Blast, Moon Blast and Grass Knot.
As they have with previous legendary releases, the developers at Game Freak released a video detailing the creation of the two legendary characters. The discussion is particularly interesting, as Xerneas was one of the first Fairy-Type Pokémon designed for the games.
The promotion will run from May 4 through May 27.
