The Dynasty Warriors franchise built a respectably sized but dedicated fanbase by offering a power fantasy in which gamers could assume the role of major historical warriors as they cut, bashed, and beat their way through thousands of enemies. The fans sustained the franchise for years, but Koei Tecmo’s recent trend of taking the gameplay formula and mixing it with other franchises has led to a great deal more success. Nintendo fans need look no further than the excellent Hyrule Warriors.
Famitsu, Japan’s biggest gaming publication, is quite aware of this successful formula and asked its readers which franchises they would like to see receive the Dynasty Warriors treatment. Western gamers might not be too familiar with the first and second place winners, Touken Ranbu Online and Type-Moon respectively, but Nintendo’s turn-based RPG series Fire Emblem managed to come in at number three. Other big names in the top ten include Final Fantasy, Tales of, Shin Megami Tensei, and Persona. Naturally, after work is finished on the current Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei crossover, they should just go ahead and add Dynasty Warriors into the mix.
What franchises do you think deserve the Dynasty Warriors treatment?

Actraiser Warriors. :^) Build up a settlement in sim mode, then defend the towns, farms, and castles in action mode!
As in the SNES original, the lands would have their pre-set features, landmarks, and bodies of water, but the town locations, bridges, and areas of uncultivated forest/swamp/desert, that’s all up to what you do in sim mode. Those things could drastically affect how the action sequences play out and make for a lot of fun replay, I would think.
It seems ridiculous to wish for an Actraiser crossover after its sole stinker of a sequel four consoles ago, but Cloud Strife just showed up for Smash Bros. Clearly, anything is possible. :^)
I would kill for a sequel to Actraiser, in the style of the first game. Decades overdue.
ActRaiser is like my “comfort food” of videogames. Wish someone would kickstart a sequel. This was the first game I ever rented for my SNES back in the day. What a gem of a game. What a fantastic soundtrack.
