One of the biggest highlights at last year’s E3 was Ubisoft’s Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. While the title had been long rumored, fans were understandably skeptical. However, the publisher’s enthusiasm combined with strong word-of-mouth from the show floor turned skeptics into believers. This year, Ubisoft managed to actually surprise Nintendo fans with the revelation that their previously announced Switch title, Starlink: Battle for Atlas, would feature an appearance by Fox McCloud!
Starlink certainly appears to be a perfect match for Fox McCloud. The action-adventure title features both third-person and space combat sections, as well as some toys-to-life influence. The latter is optional, but players can customize ship toys, which can mount on the controller where those same custom elements are reflected in-game. Ubisoft will have both a traditional option at the $59.99 price point, and a deluxe set for $74.99, which includes a Fox McCloud figure as well as a replica Arwing! The Switch version will also include Switch-exclusive missions, as well! The title will release October 16.
Today’s announcement certainly shows just how close Ubisoft and Nintendo have gotten, of late. Could this mean the company will land a representative in Super Smash Bros.? We won’t have to wait long to find out!

How much I care is entirely dependant on to what level the toys part is required. If they’re literally 100% optional in every way, then I’m very much interested. But if they’re even the slightest bit required, then I’m very much out.
