We thought Dr. Mario World being downloaded over two million times in its first 72 hours was impressive, but the game has outdone itself again with even higher numbers.
According to data from Sensor Tower Store Intelligence, the mobile title was downloaded more then five million times in its first week post-launch. This puts Dr. Mario World as Nintendo’s fourth biggest mobile launch, behind Fire Emblem Heroes, Super Mario Run, and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp respectively.
Animal Crossing is far and away Nintendo’s most successful mobile title in its first week, which is saying a lot given how many downloads Mario Run and Fire Emblem each had:
Still, with players spending a total of around $500,000 in this time, Dr. Mario is performing handsomely compared to average mobile releases, like Toon Blast (which made $90,000 in its first week) and Candy Crush Friends Saga (which made around $670,000 when it launched).
