After the unfortunate closure of THQ in 2012, many of its franchises were bought by Nordic Games. A charming action-platformer series, de Blob, was sadly not one of them, but the situation finally changed today. Nordic Games has announced that it closed an asset purchase agreement with THQ Inc. and THQ International GmbH. From now on, de Blob will be Nordic Games’ intellectual property.
Reinhard Pollice of Nordic Games spoke regarding the future of the acquired franchise:
de Blob is just a great and truly unique franchise, and we are excited about what the future holds for this polychromatic extravaganza as the newest addition to our portfolio. We will evaluate opportunities with the existing games, as well as potential sequels.
So there you have it, de Blob might get another sequel in the distant future. Are you excited to see de Blob return? What other former THQ franchises would you like to see on Nintendo consoles?

Oh, that is just too good to hear. I’m a big fan of the series (even the handheld de Blobs is fun), and never thought we’d even get a hint at a sequel. They should get something going for Wii U, it would be great.
