Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is doing everything it can to be the Super Smash Bros. of racing games. There have already been a litany of guest characters released for CrossWorlds, including both paid and free offerings. Mega Man, Majima Goro, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which launch on 07.29.26); it’s quite a list, and one that is showing no signs of ceasing to grow. Announced yesterday, a new batch of free DLC characters is on the way to the game, starting with a very familiar face: Classic Sonic! Take a look:

- Axel (Crazy Taxi): August 2026
- Amigo (Samba de Amigo): September 2026
SEGA also revealed the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds World Championship. Here are the details:
Racers from around the world will now have the opportunity to compete and show who’s got Sonic speed in the upcoming Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds World Championship. The Online Qualifiers begin Tuesday, June 30 at 12 AM UTC through Sunday, July 19 11:59 PM UTC, which will then culminate in the World Championship Finals happening in New York City later this year on Friday, October 9. The Top 24 racers will have the chance to compete live in front of a global viewing audience for first place. Throughout the Qualifiers, fans will also be able to earn Twitch Drop rewards for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds by watching participating streamers on Twitch!
