It likely feels like it took an eternity for diehard Bayonetta fans, but Nintendo and developer Platinum have finally provided the release date for Bayonetta 3. The highly anticipated third entry in the series will come to Nintendo Switch on October 28. Just in time for Halloween—how fitting. You can get a look at combat, new and old characters, and some of what the story has in store in this trailer (which is age-restricted, so head directly to the link to view it):

Here’s what Nintendo has to say about Bayonetta 3:

In this third installment of the Bayonetta series, the unstoppable Umbra Witch must join forces with some familiar faces, the mysterious Viola and a multitude of other Bayonettas to stop human-made Homunculi from wreaking havoc.

In the game, you’ll make use of Bayonetta’s wicked weapons and powerful new Demon Masquerade ability to blast, stomp and slam enemies with exciting over-the-top combos and demonic powers. Prove you’re the baddest witch around by battling an evil that’s bent on plunging humanity into the depths of chaos.

The game is set to feature a “bounty of Bayonettas” with multiple versions of the character making an appearance. There’s also a new witch-in-training named Viola that will be playable in the adventure.

If you’re hoping for a physical version of the game you’re in luck. Both standard and Trinity Masquerade Edition versions of Bayonetta 3 will be on offer. The latter comes with a 200-page art book and three reversible game cases for each game in the series. What was that? The original Bayonetta is an eShop exclusive on Switch? Not anymore: come September 20, fans will be able to get a physical copy of the first game at select retailers for $29.99.

Note that pre-orders of the Trinity Masquerade Edition, including cost and when to order, are coming at a later date. Are you excited know Bayonetta 3 is right around the corner? Tell us in the comments!
