Amiibo fans rejoice, as Nintendo of America has finally given a release date for the much anticipated sixth wave of Amiibo figures. The date is confirmed as September 11, which coincides nicely with the release of Super Mario Maker and the accompanying 30th Anniversary Mario Amiibo.

The sixth wave will include a number of other fan favorite figures, such as Bowser Jr. (complete with his Junior Clown Car), Zero Suit Samus, Ganondorf, Olimar, and Dr Mario.

As we reported yesterday, an additional retro pack will also be released, albeit on the slightly later date of September 25, and will include the amazing looking R.O.B, Duck Hunt, and Mr. Game & Watch.

Unlike the retro pack, there is still no word on whether GameStop, or any other retailer for that matter, will be holding any special pre-order events for the Wave 6 figures. Given the absolute pandemonium that these releases are likely to cause, I won’t be surprised if this changes in the very near future. If you don’t like crowds, stay away from your local gaming stores on September 11– it’s about to get a whole lot busier out there!
