Runbow garnered a lot of attention on Wii U thanks to its colorful, multiplayer focused take on fast-paced 2D platforming. Now the studio behind it, 13AM Games, have unveiled what they’ve been working on since then, and it’s coming to Switch.
Like Runbow, Double Cross also features 2D platforming, but adds in more action, adventure, and story. In it, players assume control of Zahra, a young member of the Regulators of Interdimensional Frontiers, or RIFT for short. Zahra has to piece together who is responsible for a recent attack on the organization. She will cross dimensions during her investigations while using her grappling-hook like Proton Slinger to overcome obstacles and defeat enemies. In addition to being able to choose where and when to go during their investigation, players will also get to upgrade Zahra as they see fit so they can customize their own play style.
Double Cross is currently scheduled to launch sometime this summer; however, it will be playable at PAX East this week, so attendees can get an early peek at the game.
