Admit it, you’ve rolled your way through most of your adventure in Hyrule when playing a 3D Zelda game, but have you ever wondered if spamming that A button actually made you travel faster rather than just simply walking? This video feature will put your question to rest!
How’d you like this video feature? Was it a nice change of pace or does the minimal amount of text make your spine cringe? Sound off in the comments below! And if you’ve got more myths to bust, let us know right here.
I knew it! I was always wary that the small pause after rolling would negate any potential difference in speed, but now I know.
Awesome feature! I’ve always wondered about this too. Many games have an extended pause after a roll that make me think, like Katharine, there’s no benefit. So cool to see this put to the test for one game!
Great idea and fun :)
Nice video, though it is pretty obvious that rolling makes you move faster, (though maybe I just think that since I’ve played Oot 4 times and MM 3 times). Anyway, what I think you should do / should have done is compare rolling to side jumping. Link moves pretty quick with side jumping, so I’m curious to see if it is indeed faster than rolling.
Obvious? I just thought it was a trick of the mind/light/something else! Besides, now we have empirical evidence to combat forumites with.
Side-jumping, though, would also have been a nice supplement.
Haha, I’m not sure I’d call that scientific, per se, but I’m convinced! Very nice.
It’s Mythbusters Dojo! Myth: CONFIRMED!
Great idea for a feature! Love it! Look forward to seeing some more!
Wow! I’m glad you guys all liked the video! I’m always open to suggestions for the next one!
Want to go faster than running or rolling? Walk backwards.
I knew it!
