Last summer, Nintendojo ran a couple of articles on the Triple Speed Runners, a group of gamers that marathon and stream game sessions through their website for charity. Well, the team is at it again this week, but this time with a bit of a holiday twist! From December 12 through 15, they’ll be hosting a Secret Santa marathon, in which each Speed Runner will pick a game that another member of the team will have to play. That means that some group members may even be forced to endure titles from the bottom of the bargain bin! Luckily, we’ve been assured that a few great Nintendo games will be on the list though, including Metroid Prime, Kirby’s Epic Yarn, and Mega Man X, among others.
This time around, the team is raising money for DC Outreach, a charity that supports families affected by Dyskeratosis Congenita. They’ll also have a number of prizes for donors, including a 2DS handheld, a 3DS game of the team’s choosing, and a number of Steam games. So not only will you have a chance to help families in need, you just might have a chance at helping yourself, too! You can find more details at the team’s official website.
December is a time of giving. If you’re looking for a worthwhile cause to donate to this Christmas, consider taking a look at the Triple Speed Runners latest event. And if you do, let us know what you think of the group’s efforts in the comments below!
