Here at Nintendojo, we place a lot of trust in the power of words (what with being a journalism site, and all). After several decades of the age of the video game, however, there still exists that minority of people who think that computer games are nothing more than idle play. This is simply not true. Most games nowadays have a story of some sort to stimulate your synapses and involve more than mindless button-bashing. Video games are beginning to be recognised by the general populace for what they have been for quite a while– an art form. Now, with the majority of games having a storyline to guide the action (heck, even the first SingStar had a story mode), it falls upon games creators to find that perfect balance between entertaining gameplay and a stimulating storyline.
Sometimes, though, these stories aren’t as good or as well thought through as they could have been, but this list aims to pick out those quotes from NPCs that strike a chord with the player, whether it be through poignant words of wisdom, moments of humour, or something that just sticks in your head. Or, of course, the weird nonsensical ones that I’ll most likely chuck in along with the serious ones.
