10) Gun.Smoke

To this day I still like to believe that Yasuhiro Nightow, the manga artist responsible for Trigun, created a planet called Gunsmoke because of Capcom’s old NES shooter Gun.Smoke. And, you know, not because of the TV series made by Norman Macdonnell and John Meston, which actually inspired Capcom’s Gun.Smoke (and prompted Capcom to add a dot to the game’s title to avoid licensing issues). I like to believe it was the other way around.

Oh, and the game itself is Pretty.Good.
