A new Pokémon-related patent has been filed in Japan. Game Freak and Nintendo have filed for a patent on something called “Pokétouch,” although that is all the information that is available at this time. The word “touch” hints at some kind of touchscreen, but that doesn’t really narrow down the platform since both Wii U and 3DS have touch screens, and Game Freak has recently started experimenting with iDevices as well.

The best guess I have is some new form of the Pokémon-Amie minigames from Pokémon X and Y. Maybe Game Freak wants to make them into a full game similar to Nintendogs. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!

Could be a new small device that might accompany an R/S/E or D/P/Pt remake.

Poketch – Pokemon Watch. What if it’s a real Pokemon Watch that uses a touch screen?
