Baseball enthusiasts of the late eighties will fondly remember RBI Baseball, the first baseball game to ever feature an official Major League Baseball license. Released in 1988 for NES, the game had actual player names featured in-game. Major League Baseball announced that its in-house game studio MLBAM would be handling development duties for the new RBI Baseball 14, and will bring the game to undisclosed current-gen consoles and mobile devices.
2K Games recently announced that it would not be producing a new installment in its beleaguered MLB 2K series, so many speculated that Sony’s MLB: The Show would be the only baseball offering for 2014. With this announcement, however, there’s a glimmer of hope for non-PlayStation console owners to get in some batting practice.
Are you excited to see the series return? Anyone hopeful that RIB Baseball 14 will be hitting Wii U? Sound of below!
