Crytek founder Cevat Yerli told GamesBeat that Crysis 3 was once planned for release on Wii U. Yerli said that Crytek had Crysis 3 running on the console, but business communications broke down between EA and Nintendo, and the port was dropped. Crysis 3 was released last month on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Given Nintendo’s recent campaign for third-party support on Wii U, it is curious that Nintendo didn’t pursue an impact title like Crysis 3 that can potentially demonstrate the full power of its newest console. What caused the business communications breakdown? Nintendo and third-party CEOs seem to have different opinions on how to play the video game market in the US. What will come of all this drama?
