ND: Of all your compositions, which is your favorite and why?
David: I think this changes all the time, depending on the mood I’m in when I wake up. At the moment, I’m particularly proud of a piece of music I’ve just written for an iPad 2 game, probably because I’m very much inspired by the game itself. It’s a great concept with some very stylised graphics.
ND: Are you currently working on any titles (multi-platform?)
David: I am currently working on an ingenious iPad 2 game for a company called Nyamyam, which consists of a few extremely talented ex-Rare employees working on a very inspiring and creative game concept.
ND: Would you consider moving on from games into other genres, e.g. pop?
David: When I started out, it was my ambition to be a songwriter. I think anything that excites me or where people think my style might fit, I would be very pleased to consider.
ND: Tell us about David Wise Sound Studios and what your long-term goals are.
David: The goal is to carry on writing as much music as possible. If I’m being honest it’s a fantastic lifestyle to be able to have the privilege of writing music, so it is just a way of facilitating that. I have my own studio at home, which is a short commute, and getting work done there is something I really enjoy doing. Having said that I would never say never to anything, and if there was an opportunity to work with a developer who needed someone in-house to work on a really interesting project then I would certainly consider all options.
ND: Thank you, David, for your time. Keep up the excellent work.
David: Thank you.
