Benjamin Franklin once mused that nothing in life is certain but death and taxes. Should we append gaming to that list? It’d be the one fun thing.
That’s only if you see yourself as gaming for a long time, that is. Aging is inevitable. Times change, people change, and so do your video games. Will you still be a passionate gaming enthusiast 20 years from now? 40 years? 60 years? Or will a landmark event in your life change your ways? Tell us in the poll below.

Nope! Ain’t stopping! Already married! Already have a kid! Already teaching her how to game! (Think she has a crush on Luigi!)
I have a friend-of-a-friend who had a mammoth game and game hardware collection. When it came time to move in with his girlfriend last year, he sold all his stuff. I’m still a bit stupefied by the decision… his Xbox gamer score was insane and he even had plenty of Wii games, too.
Surely when you get into a relationship and you’re going to move in together, your gaming hobby is something that’s above board and not grounds for breaking up. I never got to ask him why he sold everything, but my friend said this guy just decided it “was time.” Perhaps some rite of passage into maturity? Pfsh… I’m gonna keep on gaming… ideally getting involved with someone who loves games like I do or at least respects my choice to play them.
I will never stop gaming. I don’t intend to get married or have children… think of all the money it would take away from gaming.
@Noah: I simply don’t get it, it’s perfectly normal for someone to grow up loving sports (not necessarily playing), but you have to “outgrow” games at some point, even if you still like them.
I don’t think I’ll ever stop gaming. It’s something I love, I’ve met tons of great friends because of it.
