Nintendojo reviews a whole lot of games, and that includes games like Gabrielle’s Ghostly Groove: Monster Mix, or Labyrinth— great games that haven’t gotten as much exposure as so-called “hardcore” games like Dragon Quest X. The funny thing is, often these less-known games, deemed “casual” by other gamers, are more playable than many hardcore games. (Did anyone actually enjoy Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers?) These games, from Cooking Mama to High School Musical 3: Senior Year Dance!, might turn most gamers off with their bright visuals and saccharine soundtracks, but more non-gamers than you can shake a Wii Remote at play them. And can we really blame them? (It’s Cooking Mama!)
We here at Nintendojo are a mixed bag. Some of us love our fair share of casual games, and some of us want to stay away from Boom Blox forever. What about you? How “casual” can you get? That’s our poll this week– and we’re looking forward to your discussion in the comments!

I don’t know how much my Nintendojo cred will disintegrate after I say this, but I actually quite liked Crystal Bearers! :O
Maybe I’m just really bad at the controls then. I practically fell all over myself trying to get places. :(
I just find casual game more relaxing. After I’m done with a day in Hyrule, it’s nice to lull myself to sleep with an hour of Mario’s Picross or sudoku.
Sometimes its funny to have your friends over and play casual games. When I had a party for my jazz band last year it was funny to see my friends fail at just dance 2 and even at Mario. Mario has that casual feel at a party while its not really a casual game.
