The continuing march of collusion between Nintendo and its historic foe Sega is set to continue with the imminent release of Zelda DLC for Sonic Lost World. Available free from the Wii U eShop beginning March 27, the Legend of Zelda Zone takes a radically different approach to gameplay compared to the rest of the game. For example, the stages feature no time limits and even add such unusual features as a miniature dungeon for the green-clad hedgehog to explore.
The levels constitute a homage to Zelda history, featuring cuccos, rolling Gorons, and Ocarina of Time-era Stalfos that attack Sonic, a looming Hyrule Castle adorning the background of Hyrule Field, and Rupees ripe for the collection.
The downloadable content will only be available for the Wii U version of the game– 3DS players will unfortunately not be able to access it.
