Last month, Yooka-Laylee developer, Playtonic Games, announced it would no longer be bringing its much anticipated platformer to Wii U, and instead was focusing on making the title for Nintendo’s upcoming Switch. At the same time, the studio also announced that Kickstarter backers who selected Wii U as their console of choice would eventually get to move their selection Switch or another console, but it didn’t have additional details at the time. Thankfully, supporters will have more details very soon.
Playtonic Games has announced that gamers will officially be able to switch their console of choice before the end of the month. As of the time of this writing, that is only a week away, so backers should be on the lookout for the specific details concerning this process very soon.

Yooka-Laylee is currently scheduled to launch on April 11 for other platforms, but unfortunately we do not yet have more specific launch window for the Switch version. Hopefully, that information will be coming very soon.

It seems only natural for this game to be played from a cartridge. Let’s hope future hardware tweaks of the Switch don’t make stop-n-swop impossible. ;^)
If there’s no Stop n Swop I will RIOT.
