Well, this is surely a pleasant surprise for Xenoblade fans. Previously landlocked to Nintendo Wii U, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is the, well, definitive version of that beloved RPG. An RPG that, by all accounts, many had considered to be nearly impossible to come to Switch. Now, fans can look forward to playing (or replaying) Xenoblade Chronicles X starting March 20, 2025.
Here’s a bit more about the game from Nintendo:
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Editionfeatures your character at the center of the action in a standalone sci-fi story. Customize your avatar’s looks and class to your liking and choose from a wide variety of options in a comprehensive battle system that’s as deep as you want it to be. Once you have proven yourself to the BLADE organization, you can also unlock a powerful Skell: Your giant, customizable mech that’s proficient in exploration and combat to assist you in your adventures across Mira.
As you can see, this installment differed quite a bit from what fans are used to in the series, in particular the giant mechs called Skells. It’s a gorgeous game, too, one that will assuredly benefit from Switch’s beefier processing power compared to Wii U. As for what’s different in this Definitive Edition? The promise of more content, including a mysterious hooded figure. Who could it be? We’ll all find out together next March.
