It’s time for another Tetris 99 Maximus Cup, dear readers. The 35th such contest will begin on September 29 and this time around brings a Xenoblade Chronicles 3 theme to the game. You can see it in motion in this lovely new trailer:
The cup will last until October 2, so you’ll have until then to earn the 100 event points required to permanently unlock the theme in Tetris 99. As ever, players must be active Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in order to compete. Note that Nintendo has altered how points are rewarded in Tetris 99—here’s the breakdown:
- 1st place – 100 points
- 2nd place – 70 points
- 3rd place – 50 points
- 4th – 10th place – 40 points
- 11th – 30th place – 30 points
- 31st – 50th place – 20 points
- 51st – 90th place – 10 points
- 91st – 99th place – 1 points
