For being less than a year old, Nintendo Switch has a lot to offer in terms of big, epic adventures, and owners won’t have to wait too long for the next one. On December 1, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will come out for the new system, so Nintendo aired a new Direct today to reveal some new details about what gamers can expect.
In terms of gameplay, the Direct went into greater depth about previously announced systems, such as the relationship between the playable Driver characters and the Blades who power their weapons, as well as the emphasis on exploring the massive, dynamic world for treasure to collect and monsters to battle. A new trailer was also released offering an extra glimpse at the characters and story.
The Direct also revealed the DLC planned for the game. A $29.99 Expansion Pass will grant players access to nearly a year’s worth of content, including new modes, quests, and stories; more exact details about each element will be revealed in the future. Also, a special edition Pro Controller will be released alongside the game that will retail for $74.99 and feature a special design. The Direct also showed off the Special Edition of the game which includes the game, a 220 page art book, a soundtrack CD, and a metal case for the game card. This package will sell for $99.99.
Finally, Nintendo announced that a new quest will be added to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on November 9 that will let players acquire an outfit inspired by Rex, Xenoblade 2’s main character.
