Professional wrestling has long been a popular form of entertainment for millions of people around the world, which makes it no surprise that the sport has spawned countless games over the years across a variety of platforms. However, the last five years have denied gamers the opportunity to play 2K Games WWE series on Nintendo systems. Thankfully, that drought will end this October.
A new video featuring WWE wrestler Seth Rollins was released announcing WWE 2K18 for Nintendo Switch. The announcement was followed up with a press release going into greater detail about the title. The upcoming title will include significant upgrades to both visuals and gameplay and an updated career mode which sounds like it will include many RPG elements, including a “free-roaming backstage”, allies, enemies, and even quests.
Considering the fact that many gamers were disappointed to learn that another major sports title, FIFA 18, would be getting a Switch version based on iterations released on older platforms, some were worried WWE 2K18 might be handled similarly. However, an official Tweet has confirmed that the Switch version will be made with the same tech as other current gen platforms.
