Most video game protagonists tend to be of the squeaky clean variety. Though games like Shadow the Hedgehog and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed have given fans a chance to play as some shadier characters, Lego DC Super-Villains ups the ante with a whole menagerie of malcontents. In addition to the likes of Joker, Black Manta and Lex Luthor, the title will boast the most nefarious villain of all: you! An all-new trailer showcases the game’s rather robust character creation tools, and it looks like players will have a chance to come up with some crazy combinations! We’ve embedded it below!
With narration by Harley Quinn, a plot revolving around villains saving the world, and a whole lot of neon lighting, the trailer certainly seems to take some inspiration from 2016’s Suicide Squad film. In addition to the trailer, Warner Bros. also revealed a trio of retailer incentives for the title; players that purchase the game at GameStop can get an exclusive Harley Quinn adorned steelbook, Target shoppers can snag a pair of Joker and Harley bag tags and those who pick-up the game at Walmart can get a character pack featuring DC Super Heroes: TV Character DLC pack.
Lego DC Super-Villains will release on Switch October 16.
