Capcom’s Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers should provide Switch owners with a strong fighting game option early into the system’s lifespan. The title seems to predominantly focus on a mash-up of fighters and features from the various arcade and console incarnations of Street Fighter II, but it will also feature a handful of features unique to the Switch version.
According to the game’s Japanese box art, Ultra Street Fighter II will feature a new mode played from a first-person perspective. The new feature, titled “Unleash! Ha-Do-Ken” in Japan, will apparently make use of the Joy-Con controllers. The reveal trailer for the game briefly showcased a snippet of a first-person mode, so it’s likely we’ve already gotten a brief glimpse of the new mode in action!
While the title will not arrive in time for the Switch launch, it seems to be fairly far along in development, judging how frequently it’s been seen on display at various events. Any further information is merely speculative at this time, but fans likely won’t have to wait much longer for more news! Stay tuned to Nintendojo for more as it develops!
