Labo has proven to be one of the more intriguing creations to come from Nintendo during the Switch era thus far. While the current Labo build kits are likely keeping a lot of fans busy at the moment, Nintendo today made some interesting new announcements for the future of Labo.
Players that own the Nintendo Labo: Variety Kit can now use the Toy-Con motorbike as a control option in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The game’s update is available tonight, so Labo fans should be able to use the new control option immediately! According to Nintendo, Toy-Con functionality will be added to future games, as well, though no specific announcements have been made at this time.
In addition, Nintendo also announced a contest open to residents of the US and Canada (excluding Quebec). Labo builders over the age of 13 can submit their best gaming experience using Toy-Con Garage, as well as their greatest musical instrument creations. There are a handful of prizes available, but the cardboard-inspired Labo Switch and Labo Joy-Con controllers should prove to be quite the collector’s items! Full details for the contest can be found here.
