While making your own levels is the main appeal of Super Mario Maker, the opportunity to run through courses in one of the many alternate costumes that can be unlocked offers plenty of fun as well. The opportunity for such franchise crossing shenanigans is about to grow yet again with the reveal of three new costumes to spice up your platforming pleasure.
First up is Barbara the Bat, who premiered in the Japan only Daigasso! Band Brothers but should still be recognizable to those less familiar with esoteric rhythm games for her appearance as trophies in Smash Bros. games. The event course to unlock her will be available this Thursday in North America.
Next up is a character who comes to us from the realm of anime and manga, Chitoge Nisekoi from Nisekoi: Chitoge & Kosaki. The Event Course for her is already available and was actually designed by Naoshi Komi, the creator of the series.
Last, but certainly not least, is the revelation that Wolf Link, with Midna mounted on top, will be unlocked by scanning in the Amiibo being launched alongside Twilight Princess HD.
Nintendo has been quite active when it comes to bringing new content to Super Mario Maker, so be sure to stay on the lookout for new costumes in the future.
