MAR10 Day was yesterday, and in celebration Nintendo made a number of different plumber-centric announcements. Chief among them was word of three more Game Boy games starring Mario that will be added to the Nintendo Switch Online service. Those games are:
- Dr. Mario (Game Boy)
- Mario Golf (Game Boy Color)
- Mario Tennis (Game Boy Color)
Here’s a trailer showing off the three games:
Mario Golf and Mario Tennis are especially fascinating, as they’re quite a bit different form their Nintendo 64 counterparts. Unlike those installments, these two games both have a strong focus on a single-player story mode that’s very RPG-like in its execution. Players control a non-Mario series character that goes around competing in tournaments and interacting with NPCs. Both games are very fun and worth a look even for those who aren’t necessarily sports fans.
The games should be available for download starting tomorrow, March 12, 2024. As ever, in order to play, users must have an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
