Some gamers simply prefer physical releases. While digital releases are often more practical, for some gamers, physical copies are a guarantee that a loss of data won’t lead to their games being lost forever. Since 2015, publisher Limited Run Games has given gamers the opportunity to purchase smaller, indie titles in a fully-licensed, physical format. In that time, they have released more than 40 titles on PlayStation 4 and Vita. Earlier this year, the publisher made it aware that they want to do the same on Switch, and, apparently plan to do so very soon.
In a recent interview with Gaming Trend, Douglas Bogart, the co-founder of Limited Run Games, was asked about Switch. According to Bogart, the company hopes to have its first release available as early as this summer!
We are currently working on getting on the Nintendo Switch! It’s looking very positive and we hope to have our first title out this summer, fingers crossed!
The company’s first Switch title could be a game that hasn’t even been announced yet, but with the summer timeframe in mind, it’s easy to speculate on what game could be first out-of-the-gate for the publisher. Snake Pass could be a possibility, especially since Limited Run Games also has a tendency to offer soundtracks as well. Fast RMX could also be possible, given the critical acclaim for Shin’en’s Switch racer!
