It’s been seven years since Mega Man 11 launched on Nintendo Switch, and since then there hasn’t been a new installment in the venerable franchise. The drought won’t be ending for another couple years, but at least Capcom has been kind enough to show off the next game in the series during last night The Game Awards broadcast. Mega Man: Dual Override will come to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch in 2027. Here’s your first look:
While the game doesn’t have a number in it, Capcom is billing this as an official entry into the overarching series. You can see even more of the game in these screenshots:

In 2027, Capcom will also celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Mega Man series. The Blue Bomber first began busting bots in 1987 and instantly captivated players with rewarding gameplay, colorful characters, and rockin’ music. Since then, the franchise has sold more than 43 million units worldwide and jumped beyond the world of games into comics, TV series, and more.
If you’ve yet to play Mega Man 11, Capcom is going to have the game on sale for a limited time for less than $5. There will also be new Latin American Spanish, Brazilian, and Portuguese localizations that should be available for download in the gamer right now.
The action looks fairly similar to that in Mega Man 11, but there’s surely more percolating that fans don’t know about—yet. We’ll be sure to udpate you all as we learn more.
