During this morning’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct, Masahiro Sakurai revealed a ton of new information about the title. In case you missed it, we’ve summarized today’s biggest announcements!

The most anticipated news of the day came in the form of the game’s latest fighters. We discussed Incineroar earlier this morning, but the Pokémon is joined by two other fighters: Ken from the Street Fighter franchise and a Piranha Plant. Ken is an Echo Fighter of Ryu, while Piranha Plant actually will not appear at launch! The fighter will be available via DLC for free a couple months after launch. The fighter will only be available for free during a certain window. It summons Petey Piranha for its Final Smash.

Speaking of DLC, Sakurai revealed that more fighters will appear down the line. For $5.99, players can purchase a fighter, stage and accompanying music. For $24.99, however, you can purchase a Fighter’s Pass, which includes five new upcoming fighters in addition to their respective stages and music. As an added bonus, players that purchase the Fighter’s Pass will receive an exclusive Mii Fighter costume and music from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. None of the DLC fighters will be Echo Fighters, which means they’ll be brand-new fighters created from the ground-up.

Ken isn’t the only new representative from Street Fighter announced this morning. Guile is also in the game as an assist trophy. The title will boast 59 assist trophies in total (more than the number of Pokémon in Poké Balls), including Dr. Wily, Spring-Man, Callie and Marie, Virtua Fighter’s Akira, Golden Sun‘s Isaac and many more!

If your favorite character didn’t make the cut as either a playable character or even an assist trophy, they may appear in Spirit Mode, a brand-new mode coming to the title. In Spirit Mode, players can recruit the “spirits” of captured video game characters and use them to enhance the abilities of fighters in the game. It all plays into the game’s Story Mode, which has been titled World of Light. In an epic new cinema scene revealed for the game, the title’s 74 playable characters stand up to a massive Master Hand army. In the ensuing battle, Kirby is the lone fighter to escape, while the captured fighters are cloned into darker versions of themselves.

Last but not least, Amiibo are, of course, coming for all of the game’s fighters. While the Inkling, Wolf and Ridley Amiibo were all previously revealed, Sakurai showed off a number of additional figures coming February 15, including Young Link, King K. Rool, Pichu, Piranha Plant, Daisy, the Ice Climbers, Young Link and Isabelle.
