Over the weekend, Nintendo released Fire Emblem Heroes, the second major mobile release from the company. Nintendo fans that own Super Mario Run can now celebrate the release of the title with a brand-new event.
Unlike previous in-game events for Super Mario Run, the latest doesn’t really require much of players. In fact, they don’t even need to own Fire Emblem Heroes! Simply logging on to the mobile title will net players 2,222 coins for use in their respective Mushroom Kingdoms.
Super Mario Run players aren’t the only ones seeing extra coins in their pockets. Fire Emblem Heroes generated $2.9 million in gross revenue within just 24 hours of release. That doesn’t make it nearly as successful as Pokémon Go or Super Mario Run, but it should be noted that the Fire Emblem franchise has never been nearly as successful as Mario or Pokémon. Given Nintendo was hesitant for years to expand the franchise outside of Japan, it’s even more impressive!
