Splatoon has proven to be quite the success, moving a surprisingly large number of copies for a new IP on a system with a relatively small install base and earning plenty of respect among gamers and critics alike. Most recently, the respect was further proven with a big win at the BAFTA Children’s Awards.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced the winners for its annual Children’s Awards, and Splatoon took away the win for the video game category. Considering the fact the shooter was going up against big names like Minecraft, Adventure Time, and even Nintendo’s own Yoshi’s Woolly World, the win is made all the more impressive.
Furthermore, Nintendo announced that everyone’s favorite paint bucket, the Slosher, will be getting a makeover in the form of the Slosher Deco. The re-skinned weapon will come packed with the Splash Wall and Kraken, which should combine to allow for some pretty interesting strategies.
