Sonic the Hedgehog was a surprise hit, both in terms of its box office success as well as its warmly received plot. Video game movies tend to suck, yet here was one that genuinely good. The sequel was quickly green lit, but outside of occasional snippets of information, not a ton is known about the upcoming sequel. That’s all about to change:

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 won’t hit theaters until April 8 of next year, but to help tide fans over this new movie poster was debuted, along with word that during the broadcast for tomorrow’s Game Awards the first trailer will also be dropping. Fans of the games will likely be even happier to know that the voice of Tails himself, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, is returning to bring the character to life on the silver screen:
Taking my old pal Tails for another adventure. Thrilled to announce I’m the voice of Miles “Tails” Prower in #SonicMovie2! Can’t wait for y’all to see him on the big screen.

That’s a lot of awesome Sonic 2 news, eh? Don’t forget that Idris Elba will be voicing Knuckles and that Jim Carrey is returning in his role as Dr. Robotnik/Eggman. We’ll have the trailer for you all tomorrow, but in the interim sound off on all of this info down in the comments.
