The original Sonic Mania on Switch was a fantastic game, and its updated version, Sonic Mania Plus, is even better, as shown by its recent critical and commercial success.
Not only is Sonic Mania Plus a ‘good Sonic game’, it may be one of the best in recent memory — indeed, it’s currently the highest rated Sonic game in 25 years according to SEGA.
With a 90 Metascore on Nintendo Switch, Sonic Mania Plus is now the highest-rated Sonic game in 25 years.

Not only that, the game entered the UK charts at number five in its launch week, with the Switch version clearly leading the charge — 52% of the game’s sales were on Switch compared to 34% on PS4 and only 15% on Xbox One. This is particularly impressive given the fact that the other consoles still enjoy a larger share of the market.
