From March 28 to April 24, McDonald’s will be offering those who purchase kids’ Happy Meals exclusive Skylanders toys. Overall, there are eight types of Skylanders: Swap Force figures that you will be able collect: Chompy, Eruptor, Free Ranger, Freeze Blade, Magna Charge, Prism Break, Rattle Shake, and Wash Buckler. Even though every toy has a “unique play feature,” they unfortunately don’t work with the Portal of Power device.
As a nice bonus, you will also get a coupon for $1 off your next Skylanders in-game toy. And if you or your kid are craving for more Skylanders, there are also coupons available for $10 off a Swap Force starter pack.
Meanwhile, those who purchase McDonald’s Happy Meals in Europe will be getting Nintendo toys, which will be available from March 19 until April 29. The complete set includes Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Toad, and Yoshi, some of which are even interactive (Mario’s Hovering Coin, the Donkey Kong Barrel Projector, a Super Sound Mushroom, and Mario’s Warp Pipe Embosser).
We already had these Mario toys here in Russia and I personally bought Mario and Luigi for my figures collection. The toys are surprisingly solid in terms of quality, so don’t hesitate to buy them if you would like to own some fairly good figures of classic Nintendo characters.
Man, I would rather have the Nintendo toys. I don’t remember the last time the U.S. had Mario themed happy meals….. Think it was when Mario 3 came out.
Wendy’s had some really nice Nintendo Kids’ Meal toys during the Wii era. I have an Excite Truck and a Light-Up Luma.
