Nintendo has made quite the comeback after the disappointing run of the Wii U, reaching a milestone with The Nintendo Switch selling over 129.53 million units. This hybrid console managed to capture the attention of a wide audience as it’s still widely considered one of the best home consoles even nearly 7 years after its release.

This is huge news as Nintendo was already on track to break Sony’s record of having the best-selling console, and now it’s looking likely.

Nintendo has sustained its momentum by consistently delivering high-quality first-party releases. In the present year, notable launches include a fresh installment in the Zelda series and the remastered version of Metroid Prime.

The latest sales put The Nintendo Switch just 30 million sales short of passing the best-selling console record. It’s rumored that Nintendo’s next gen console will be released during the second half of 2024, however, it will likely continue to support last-gen hardware.

Do you think The Nintendo Switch will become the best-selling console? Let us know in the comments!
