The acclaimed Shantae: Half-Genie Hero has been available on Nintendo Switch for a while now, but developer WayForward will soon physically release an Ultimate Edition of the game. However, in addition to the all of the game’s normal DLC, it will also come with content that was previously only available to those who contributed to the game’s Kickstarter campaign.
The developer released a statement saying they consulted with these backers about releasing the content and the consensus was, “to keep it exclusive for a time, and then release it to the public so that anyone (including Backers who’d shifted consoles) could purchase it again.”
Furthermore, the game’s Costume Pack, which comes with new outfits and modes, will be coming out soon as well. This pack will be free to backers, paid DLC to general standard customers, and come bundled with the Ultimate Edition once it comes out on April 3. Considering that the game originally came out on Wii U, this new version of the game seems like a great way for Switch owners to get caught up on the complete adventure.
