Coming off last week’s announcement that Shantae: Half-Genie Hero will receive a physical release by publisher Xseed, developer WayForward has announced a release date for the Wii U platformer. The title will release September 27 in stores and on Nintendo eShop.
After three previous handheld appearances, Half-Genie Hero will mark the character’s first appearance on consoles. From a graphic standpoint, it looks like the transition from handhelds to consoles is going quite well, at least from what we’ve seen from gameplay videos. Additionally, this is the first time the Shantae character has seen a physical release since her original appearance on Game Boy Color. Hopefully the title will manage to deliver the same quality of gameplay that the franchise has become known for.
