Retro City Rampage was an excellent open-world, 8-bit homage to both Grand Theft Auto and ’80s pop culture that made quite the impression when it landed on Wii and 3DS back in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Vblank Entertainment, the development studio of the game’s mastermind and designer Brian Provinciano, is hard at work to bring the next installment of the series to home consoles in the form of Shakedown Hawaii!
The game follows the original protagonist Player some 30 years after the conclusion of Retro City Rampage, this time with 16-bit inspired aesthetic in tow. The original game was both funny and engaging, so hopes are high for Shakedown Hawaii… though it’s unclear which Nintendo system(s) the game will be appearing on. NX? Wii U? 3DS? It’s anyone’s guess at this point, but keep it posted to Nintendojo for all the latest as it develops!

Nice! I know a few people who loved the first one and will likely be pretty pumped for this news. Fingers crossed for a launch on all three systems mentioned.
This game is violent, disturbing, over the top and wonderful and makes you wonder the real reason why they won’t put a GTA (Chinatown Wars excluded) on a Nintendo console.
