You’d think Capcom would take a breather after releasing the exceptional Resident Evil: Requiem earlier this year, but no, dear reader, that is not the case. Already prepping for the next big installment in the beloved survival horror series, Capcom stunned fans around the world with the reveal at Summer Game Fest of Resident Evil Veronica. Check it out:
Resident Evil Veronica is (you guessed it) a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica from back in 2000 on SEGA Dreamcast. That game was notable for its departure from the pre-rendered backdrops of previous Resident Evil titles, with fully realized 3D environments and a more dramatic, immersive camera setup as a result. However, the core of that game was traditional RE tank controls and survival horror, with Claire and Chris Redfield taking center stage as the heroes of that adventure. Now, Capcom is reimagining the game as it has done with the second, third, and fourth entries of the series.

Here’s how Capcom describes Veronica:
Resident Evil Veronica will draw players into a desperate escape filled with horror and madness through the isolated, zombie-filled Rockfort Island. Developed on the RE Engine, the game will introduce modernized gameplay with a chilling level of realism designed to push survival horror to new heights.
Resident Evil Veronica drops on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
