Sonic’s pals Amy, Knuckles, and Tails won’t be the only ones joining him in the upcoming Sonic Boom animated and video game series– Sega has also announced a brand new teammate for the Blue Blur: Sticks the badger.
According to Sega, Sticks is a “jungle badger who has spent most of her life living alone in the wilderness.” Her feral nature is reflected in her penchant for handmade weaponry, particularly her boomerang, which she will presumably wield in the 3DS and Wii U games. Her years in the wilderness have also stunted her social skills, making her wary of others (though she becomes fast friends with Amy).
Sega has yet to release any gameplay footage of Sticks, but fans can learn more about her by watching her official announcement trailer.
The Wii U version of Sonic Boom is being developed by Big Red Button, while its 3DS counterpart is being handled by Sanzaru Games. Both will hit their respective platforms later this year. The Sonic Boom animated series is scheduled to debut on Cartoon Network this fall.
