Nightly News Roundup

NPD Numbers Revealed for August

August was another strong month for Nintendo DS, selling 342,700 units between all models. Wii had a decent showing, with 244,300 units sold. While DS topped PSP by more than 200,000 units, Wii was not the top selling home console. While it managed to barely outsell PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 was the top seller for the month. The new model has helped the 360 sell more than 350,000 units in August, beating Wii for a second consecutive month. Things will continue to get interesting later on in the year when the big Wii games are released.
