Hyrule Historia Getting Global Release
Japan got to celebrate the Zelda franchise’s 25th anniversary with the Hyrule Historia, a book filled with game art, developers notes, and even the first ever game by game history of the series timeline ever to come straight from the horse’s mouth. After too many months of waiting, the book has finally been confirmed for North America, Europe, and Australia.
Dark Horse Comics will be publishing the book in America early in 2013, January 16 to be precise. Along with all the aforementioned art, histories, and other goodies, the book will also feature an English introduction from Shigeru Miyamoto. The volume’s 248 pages will set you back $34.99.

Monster Hunter Announcement Coming this Year
Capcom’s popular Monster Hunter franchise has been quiet outside of its native Japan for a while now. Back home, the series has had a hugely successful 3DS debut with Monster Hunter 3G and a fourth installment has already been announced. American fans, however, have had nothing new to talk about or look forward to. The fact that E3 came and went without a murmur didn’t help much either.
Capcom’s Christian Svensson has broken the silence with the biggest news to come from the series in a long time, something is going to be announced before the end of 2012.
“You’re also assuming that when it comes, it’ll be at some event you can see coming from a mile away. That’s not necessarily a correct assumption,” said Svensson. “While I appreciate the passion, I can’t help you if every possible industry event leads to build up and crashes in anticipation. If we somehow get to Dec 31 and you do not have more visibility, then please be mad at me.”
This means we probably won’t be hearing anything more from Germany’s Gamescom which is wrapping up as I type this, and it also suggests there won’t be anything (especially for the US market) coming out of next month’s Tokyo Game Show in September. Furthermore, we don’t even know what exactly will be discussed in this anticipated announcement. Details on a world wide launch of 3G or more news on Monster Hunter 4 are probably the most likely, but that is nothing but conjecture at this point.
So, I guess the best course of action at this point is to wait until whenever to hear whatever Capcom has to say.

3DS owners looking forward to another sidescrolling, action-platforming romp through Dracula’s castle will be saddened to learn that their exploits will have to wait until next year. Konami has officially confirmed that Catlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate is being delayed, moving it past its original launch window of this fall to an unspecified time next year.
