Crytek? Check that box.

Wii U may not have an exact launch date but developer Crytek is officially “working with Nintendo” on what will remain a mystery, at least for the time being. Producer Mike Read does not dismiss Crysis 3 on Wii U, saying repeatedly, “I wouldn’t rule it out.” Crysis 3 hits store shelves in February for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

From my limited play time with the original Crysis on Xbox LIVE Arcade, and the footage I’ve seen of Crysis 3, the newest iteration in the series could turn out to be an important title in Wii U’s 2013 brigade, hopefully launching at the same time as on other platforms or not too long after.

3DS Smash Bros. sooner rather than later?

The Big N has released a document that provides us with a rough release plan for a number of highly-anticipated titles, plus 3DS XL. The titles range from New Super Mario Bros. 2 all the way to Super Smash Bros. (temp title).

Although the dreaded TBD accompanies Nintendo’s 3DS brawler, it shocks me that Nintendo would even bother to list a title that just recently began development. Of course, I’m thrilled at the prospect of seeing the next Smash Bros. on my 3DS XL by the end of 2013. Super Smash Bros. (temp title) is only listed for the U.S., making me wonder if this was just Nintendo of America anticipating the game as much as we are.
