Nintendo Teases Free VVVVVV Download Code

Earlier today, Nintendo of America teased that it would be giving out a free download code for eShop platformer, VVVVVV, on its Twitter page tomorrow. The full, rather unsubtle tweet reads as follows:

“Do you <3 Nintendo #eShop? Check back tomorrow and there’s a ‘VVVVVVery’ good chance we’ll be giving out free download codes. US only.”

US fans who have yet to download VVVVVV would do well to keep a close eye on Nintendo’s Twitter page tomorrow– the game did, after all, nab a runner’s up slot in our best eShop games of 2011 award, and who can resist free stuff?

Sakaguchi: “No Plans” for a Last Story Sequel

Legendary game designer (and director of The Last Story) Hironobu Sakaguchi recently sat down for an interview with gaming website Cubed3. Among the topics discussed was the possibility of a sequel for The Last Story, and what approach the designer would take for the hypothetical project. Sakaguchi had the following to say in response:

“I have no plans for making a sequel at the moment, so I haven’t really thought about any ideas for such a game. If I were to make a sequel, though, I think that any direction could be possible. I feel that it might also be fun for it to be a completely online game!”

So it looks as if a Last Story 2 is currently out of the question, but I’m sure Sakaguchi can be persuaded otherwise if sales of the first one are strong enough. You can read the rest of the interview at the link below.
