Nintendo Shows Off Uggie’s First Day at the Office
The behind the scenes on Uggie’s first day were posted to Nintendo’s YouTube channel today. The new spokesdog—brought on mainly to promote Nintendogs + Cats—seems to have done alright, going so far as to earn the thumbs up of some top brass at the end of the video.

Nintendo Prevails in Patent Feud
Which marks the third consecutive time this year that Nintendo does so. In the latest instance, IA Labs CA, LLC had alleged that software used along the Balance Board accessory in games such as Wii Fit was in breach of their patents. A Maryland judge dismissed the case, precluding a jury trial. A member of Nintendo’s legal team had this to say about the decision:
“Nintendo has a passionate tradition of developing innovative products while respecting the intellectual property rights of others. We vigorously defend patent lawsuits when we firmly believe that we have not infringed another party’s patent. We refuse to succumb to patent trolls.”

Check out the opening sequence of Mario Party 9
Kotaku was kind enough to record it for the viewing pleasure of all. Bowser and Bowser Jr. are at it again with another piece of space technology (things seem to have been staying in orbit since Super Mario Galaxy).
One point of interest is Bowser’s pep talk to “top minions” Wiggler and Lakitu. We know that he’s King Koopa, and that each of Mario’s foes operates under his bidding, but it’s still a little strange seeing Bowser do some dispatching.
