Game Developers Conference 2012
This year, Nintendo will be presenting at the Game Developers Conference, which will take place on March 5 through 9 in San Francisco, CA. Their first session, which is scheduled for March 7, is titled “Thinking in 3D: The Development of Super Mario 3D Land.” Game director Koichi Hayashida will not only provide details on the game’s development process, but he will also explain how developers can correctly use 3D in games.
Also, on March 6, Steve Rabin, Principal Software Engineer for Nintendo of America, will be participating in a panel about artificial intelligence in video games called “Existential Crisis: Do We Really Need AI?”

GameStop lowers 3DS price
GameStop has cut $20 off of the 3DS price, making it now $150, two weeks before the launch of the PlayStation Vita. GameStop remains the only major retailer to lower the price, and it’s currently unknown if others will do the same or continue selling it for the MSRP of $169.99.

I Heart Club Nintendo Contest
Nintendo has announced a new contest to win the 3DS game card case, a new reward on Club Nintendo available for 250 coins. To enter, you must submit a picture of yourself with your favorite Club Nintendo reward and explain why you love Club Nintendo. The contest is open to U.S. and Canadian residents, and all entrants must be 18 or older. The game card case holds 18 games and comes with 4 double-sided covers. There are two Mario covers, a Legend of Zelda cover, and a Club Nintendo cover.
